January 9, 2014 On this day, Men of Sigma around the world celebrate the historic Centennial anniversary of the greatest Fraternity known to man, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. By reaching this milestone, every Sigma Man should stand, be counted and be proud. Phi Beta Sigma has never been stronger. We did not reach this moment by mere circumstance, but because of our continued commitment to the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service. For every Brother who holds Phi Beta Sigma in the highest regard, the bond of Brotherhood resounds and stirs your spirit. On this day, tighten the bond of Phi Beta Sigma by calling the Brothers that pulled you into the Fraternity. On this day, the day of our Centennial celebration, no Sigma should be without Brotherhood, the greatest asset of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
May 23, 1979 The Kappa Rho chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was chartered at the University of Wisconsin at Madison on May 23, 1979. The idea to start a Phi Beta Sigma chapter in Madison, Wisconsin first originated in the fall of 1978, and was the brainchild of Bros. Anthony L. McKnight and Lowell U. Collins. What they started in 1978 has grown consistently since then, and theSigma Light which they saw continues to live in the hearts of the men who have been initiated into the Fraternity through Kappa Rho, and who continue to strive for excellence. The Kappa Rho chapter has been celebrating over 44 Years of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service here on campus and in the community, and have received numerous awards and recognition for our contributions to humanity.
